The captain of a cruise ship bound for the Mediterranean is less than impressed when five of his regular shipmates are replaced at the last minute. Despite their best efforts to earn his respect and an eagerness to please, the new recruits seem doomed to cause chaos whatever they do. Captain Crowther's lot is not a happy one! Five of his crew have to be replaced and at such short notice before the voyage begins there isn't much to choose from.
