"Boy, have we got a vacation for you..."

15

  • Director: Michael Crichton
  • Genre: Action, Adventure, Drama, Horror, Science Fiction, Thriller, Western
  • Studio: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer
  • Subtitled | Widescreen | Duration: 85 Mins

Overview:
The seeds of Jurassic Park and its sequel The Lost World can easily be recognised in this futuristic suspense thriller from writer/director Michael Crichton about a resort where people go to live out their fantasies. Richard Benjamin and James Brolin play the holiday-makers whose dream cowboy vacation turns into a nightmare when the android population malfunctions and robot gunslinger Yul Brynner pursues them relentlessly. This is a fun scare flick that puts its clever gimmicks to imaginative use, with extra resonance coming from the inspired casting of chilling Brynner (appearing as though he's just walked off the set of The Magnificent Seven), good special effects and an incisive message about the dark side of male fantasies.
