"The strangest true experience a young girl ever had."
- Director: Nunnally Johnson
- Genre: Drama, Classics,
- Studio: 20th Century Fox
- Subtitled | Widescreen | Duration: 95 Mins
|
Overview:
An Oscar-winning performance from Joanne Woodward is the highlight of writer/director Nunnally Johnson's uneven film. Woodward is Eve, a young wife and mother who has three split personalities - insecure housewife, irresponsible floozy and educated woman. Her husband (David Warner) is sceptical, but a psychiatrist (Lee J Cobb) soon sees all three personalities and goes ahead with the task of trying to merge them into one again. Alistair Cooke adds some weight as the narrator, but despite the fact that it's based on a real case history, the movie falters when Woodward interacts with anyone except her doctor.
