Overview:
After the blockbuster success of Ghost in 1990, Demi Moore certainly chose some odd projects for the following year: there was the misfire Nothing but Trouble, the downbeat drama Mortal Thoughts and this quirky but quiet romantic comedy. Moore plays a blonde psychic who cheerfully tries to sort out the lives of her lonely neighbours in New York, who include besotted Jeff Daniels, Mary Steenburgen and Frances McDormand. Director Terry Hughes succeeds in conjuring up a bittersweet, magical atmosphere which is rarely cloying, and he is well served by a talented cast. However, it all proved a little too obscure for Moore's fans and the film didn't last long at the cinema.
