A woman who was adopted as a child from Russian parents and raised in America learns her birth mother has died mysteriously. As the only surviving relative, she inherits an isolated, derelict farm that is the focus of local superstition - but when she finally arrives at the family homestead, she is tormented by terrifying ghostly visions. Marie, a film producer, returns to her native Russia to find her birth parents. She quickly learns they are dead, and she has inherited their long-empty farmhouse. At the farm, she meets Nicolai, who claims to be her twin brother.
