It takes a brave man to remake one of Alfred Hitchcock's finest films, and director Jeff Bleckner - who has divided his career between TV movies and series such as Dynasty - was always going to be on a hiding to nothing with this made-for-TV update of the classic original. Unsurprisingly, Bleckner isn't in the same league as the master, but where this scores is in the presence of Christopher Reeve in the lead role of the wheelchair-using architect. Reeve's own condition added an extra dimension to the role, as did the range of hi-tech equipment at his disposal. Otherwise, it's fairly faithful to the original's plot, with Daryl Hannah in the Grace Kelly role and Robert Forster making an impression as the sceptical detective.

Jason Kemp, a recently paralyzed architect, lives in a high-tech apartment filled with assistive technology. As a quadriplegic confined to his home, he passes the long hours by spying on his neighbors from his apartment window. His innocent pastime takes a deadly turn when he believes he witnesses a murder. Determined to uncover the truth, Jason continues to dig deeper - eventually finding himself locked in a deadly game of cat and mouse.
