An FBI agent studies the crimes of the notorious, now deceased, serial killer known as Jigsaw. But he comes to the disturbing realisation that a detective who investigated his reign of terror has become fixated with the dead maniac, and plans to pick up where he left off. Following Jigsaw's grisly demise, Detective Mark Hoffman is commended as a hero, but Agent Strahm is suspicious, and delves into Hoffman's past. Meanwhile, another group of people are put through a series of gruesome tests.
