There's a hint of Shane about this drama, in which a lonely lad learns a bit about life and a lot about himself through his encounter with an intriguing stranger. Bored with his mundane island existence and unhappy with his mother Talisa Soto's relationship with dull, dependable Miguel Sandoval, young Kristian de la Osa has his hopes raised when Dean Cain arrives in his bi-plane. Cain makes a suitably dashing penny-dreadful hero, but director Noel Quinones douses his scenes with the kid in queasy sentiment.
