An interesting look at the law (and lawlessness) in California before the First World War, this drama is based on the memoirs of Adela "Nora" Rogers St Johns (played by Olivia Burnette), who as a girl often accompanied her criminal lawyer father when he was out working. The always reliable Treat Williams is immensely watchable as the father, and he is ably supported by the great Glenn Ford.
