This dire western - a pale imitation of Stagecoach - has an adequate cast headed by Dale Robertson and Linda Darnell that is hamstrung by pretentious dialogue and fuzzy characterisations. After interminable scenes in town, setting up the boring characters, hopes rise when they set off on the stage, but this only leads to more excessive gabbing when the travellers take cover in a dry waterhole after being attacked by Cheyenne Indians. It's a particular relief when Ward Bond's foolish windbag of a senator discovers that his sympathy for the tribesmen is not reciprocated.
