Drenched in blood and bad taste, this homage to The Cabinet of Dr Caligari and the Amicus portmanteau pic, Asylum, chronicles the crimes of a cannibalistic hypnotist and his lugubrious henchman. Shot on high-resolution video against the backdrop of some quintessentially British locations, this gore quartet revels in its scabrous portrait of a decadent society in which no depravity is deemed excessive and no one is immune from an obsession with self-gratification. Harking back to the innocent days of the "video nasty", without ever quite over-stepping the bounds of decency, this is still definitely not for the squeamish or the humourless.

Helped by deranged angel Dani Filth, who leaves a trail of charnel house death in his crimson wake, the cannibal convict forces two Goth vamps to endure a one night stand from hell, two tough female robbers to see through each other, an obscenely rich coke-head to chop up more than a few lines and an internet surfer to descend into madness when he uncovers the ultimate web depravity.
