Overview:
Writer Nia Vardalos's insipid follow-up to 2002's surprise hit My Big Fat Greek Wedding has her and Toni Collette playing wannabe singers who decide to disguise themselves as performers in a West Hollywood drag club after accidentally witnessing a Mob murder. Weakly plotted gender-confusion comedy follows as Connie (Vardalos) falls for a drag queen's straight brother (a virtually charm-free David Duchovny) who doesn't realise that she's a woman. There's the odd laugh to be had from the duo's dodgy stage routines, but Connie and Carla struggles helplessly with a woefully underwritten script and a central pairing lacking the fizzy personalities essential for this kind of silly fluff to work.
