This virtually mirthless family comedy sees Kristen Bell's ambitious PR executive returning home for her brother's wedding, only to discover he's marrying the bitchy cheerleader (Odette Yustman) who ruined her high-school years. Yustman now appears to be a reformed character who does lots of charity work, but since she claims not to remember Bell, the latter remains convinced this goody-goody act is just a front. It's a convoluted set-up that fails to deliver on its promise, combining vindictive yet scarcely believable characters with regular doses of queasy sentiment. Thankfully, Jamie Lee Curtis (Bell's mom, one-time prom queen) and Sigourney Weaver (Justman's aunt, and Curtis's competitive former best pal) are on hand with a few scores of their own to settle. Their presence makes the movie moderately tolerable, as they show the younger set how to make the best from a script that feeds everyone on scraps.

History -- make that high school -- may repeat itself when Marni learns that Joanna, the mean girl from her past, is set to be her sister-in-law. Before the wedding bells toll, Marni must show her brother that a tiger doesn't change its stripes. On Marni's side is her mother, while Joanna's backed by her wealthy aunt.
