"It's all in the name of science...Weird Science."
- Director: John Hughes
- Genre: Comedy, Fantasy, Science Fiction, Romance
- Studio: Universal Pictures
- Subtitled | Widescreen | Duration: 90 Mins
|
Overview:
This may be the worst of John Hughes's early comedies, but it's still a cut above most teen fodder of the time. Hughes regular Anthony Michael Hall and Ilan Mitchell-Smith play the sex-obsessed hi-tech anoraks who summon up the computer-generated woman of their dreams (Kelly LeBrock). Hughes remains a sharp observer of teenage woes, but this time around there's a crassness to much of the humour and far too much time is spent leering. The best performance comes from Bill Paxton as Mitchell-Smith's fascist brother, and look out, too, for an early role for Robert Downey Jr.
