A pre-007 Pierce Brosnan stars in a role that's far removed from that of the suave and sophisticated secret agent. He plays a British professor who, following the recent death of his wife, charms his way into the life of psychologist JoBeth Williams, who is unaware that he has a rather sinister side to him. Directed by Jerry London, who made the mini-series Shogun, this has a fair quota of tense moments, and Brosnan is perfect as the cardigan-wearing villain.

Therapist Tess falls for widowed professor Paul, who's having an affair with Carla, one of her patients. Tess turns a dangerous page when she uncovers that Paul is not only the root of Carla's emotional turmoil, he also murdered his wife in order to be with Carla.
