A photographer is told he has terminal cancer and only a few months to live. Refusing medical help and keeping his condition a secret, he alienates himself from friends and family. In the end he decides to tell his grandmother and on his way to visit her an encounter with a waitress at a roadside cafe gives him a new perspective on his situation.
