"McQueen and Dunaway... partners in crime."
- Director: Norman Jewison
- Genre: Drama, Action & Adventure, Romance, Mystery & Suspense, Classics,
- Studio: The Mirisch Company
- Duration: 130 Mins
Overview:
Wound up by its, to some, irritatingly wistful, Oscar-winning song, The Windmills of Your Mind, this is a movie of clockwork precision from director Norman Jewison and his photographer, Haskell Wexler, who give what is essentially a caper movie an unnecessarily reverent sheen. Steve McQueen stars as the businessman organising a bank heist out of boredom and Faye Dunaway plays the insurance investigator who falls for the bad guy. You can take or leave the story, but, certainly, the style is something else, though the split screens don't work well on TV all that effectively.
