This adequate but unexceptional follow-up to Disney's Aladdin bypassed cinemas and went straight to video, in line with what now seems to be usual company policy. Most of the original's voice cast returns as Aladdin does battle with evil sorcerer Jafar, but a notable absentee is genie Robin Williams, whose anarchic vocals are sorely missed. It's fine for children, though grown-ups will find less to chuckle at than they did the first time round.

The evil Jafar escapes from the magic lamp as an all-powerful genie, ready to plot his revenge against Aladdin. From battling elusive villains atop winged horses, to dodging flames inside an exploding lava pit, it's up to Aladdin - with Princess Jasmine and the outrageously funny Genie by his side - to save the kingdom once and for all.
