This acceptable enough Disney animation is a sequel that came such a long time after The Rescuers (1977) that it could be forgiven for having lost the plot, because introductions to the "rescue mice" Miss Bianca and Bernard had to be made all over again. This time they're called to Australia to help a boy and golden eagle in danger from a fearsome trapper. It's likeable enough and the crocodile-snapping climax is exciting stuff. Bob Newhart and Eva Gabor are great as the voices of Bernard and Bianca, though it's a shame that fine actor George C Scott is only a disembodied presence.

A lawless poacher wants to capture a majestic and rare golden eagle, so he kidnaps the boy who knows where to find the bird. Not to worry -- the Rescue Aid Society's top agents, heroic mice Miss Bianca and Bernard, fly to Australia to save the day. Accompanying the fearless duo are bumbling albatross Wilbur and local field operative Jake the Kangaroo Rat.
