"In every neighborhood, there is one house that adults whisper about and children cross the street to avoid."
- Director: Wes Craven
- Genre: Comedy, Drama, Horror, Mystery, Thriller
- Studio: Alive Films
- Duration: 120 Mins
|
Overview:
Wes Craven was back to nearly his very best with this sly, satirical shocker, a modern-day fable in which the rich are literally feeding off the poor. Young Brandon Adams stars as the lad from the ghetto who gets trapped in a house owned by mad slum landlords Everett McGill and Wendy Robie (of Twin Peaks fame), and discovers that he is not the only person to fall victim to the couple. The plot stretches credibility to the limit, but McGill - complete with leather bondage gear - and Robie have a ball as the monstrous duo, while Craven keeps the adrenaline pumping as well as delivering some sharp digs about injustices in American society.
