The decision to shift the murder from Hyde Park Tube station to Cairo Airport should give you some idea of how overblown this whodunnit has become. However, the fact that Stephanie Zimbalist is transformed from spirited amateur sleuth into the kind of heroine Kathleen Turner played in Romancing the Stone is the real giveaway. Directed by Alan Grint with no feeling for the Crime Queen's unique style, this ranks among the poorest Christie adaptations.
