A 12-year-old girl on a train awakens the concern of an army officer (Ray Milland). She also awakens his sexual interest and that of the boys at the military academy where he's stationed. No, this is not a provocative drama from Tennessee Williams, but a romantic comedy, penned by the illustrious team of Charles Brackett and Billy Wilder, which marked Wilder's Hollywood directing debut. The girl, of course, is not underage at all, but Ginger Rogers masquerading in order to avoid paying full fare. Famous wit and sometime character actor Robert Benchley offers support, and Ginger's real-life mother Lela plays her screen mom. Daft and sparkling entertainment, though Billy's best was yet to come.

Low on funds, working-class girl Susan Applegate disguises herself as a youngster in order to pay half fare home. But little 'Sue Sue' finds herself in a whole heap of grownup trouble when she hides out in a compartment with handsome Major Philip Kirby.
