"The girl is a captive hostage at the mercy of the West's most notorious bandit-killer."
- Director: John Sturges
- Genre: Western, Classics,
- Studio: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer
- Subtitled | Duration: 105 Mins

Overview:
An ageing Robert Taylor and a sneering Richard Widmark star as adversaries in this handsomely mounted western directed by that master of the genre, John Sturges (The Magnificent Seven, Bad Day at Black Rock). It's a tale of two outlaws who once rode together, but now the evil Widmark is back and trying to coerce a reformed Taylor into revealing where their ill-gotten loot is buried. The climax - a Comanche Indian attack on a ghost town - is particularly well choreographed, and Robert Surtees's cinematography is often breathtaking. The clever, laconic screenplay by William Bowers tends to be underrated, as, indeed, was this fine, tense western, sent out on its original release with Tarzan and the Lost Safari.
