Based on the bestseller of the same name by George Dawes Green, this thriller has Demi Moore as the juror on a Mafia trial who is harassed, threatened and coerced by Mob henchman Alec Baldwin to bring about a hung jury. Unfortunately, Brian Gibson's film plods along predictably, with the only spark of interest coming from implausible plot twists. Still, thanks to a hilarious performance from Baldwin, it's marginally better than the similarly themed Trial by Jury with Joanne Whalley-Kilmer, which was made two years earlier.

Struggling single mother Annie Laird impulsively agrees to serve on a jury, hoping for a little excitement in her humdrum life. But she gets far more than she bargained for when she's forced to sacrifice the truth to save her son from the mob's seductive, psychotic enforcer.
