Astronaut Alex Rebar returns from Saturn a changed man. His flesh is decomposing and he finds he's developed a taste for human flesh. A deliberate throwback to such cheap 1950s frights as The First Man into Space, hack writer/director William Sachs's film provides little of interest outside the tried and tested old-school format, apart from showcasing Oscar winner (An American Werewolf in London) Rick Baker's oozing, slimy and putrefying make-up to stunning effect.

An astronaut exposed to cosmic rays outside of Saturn's rings returns to Earth and begins to melt away. Escaping from the hospital, he wanders around the backwoods looking for human flesh to eat.
