Overview:
Fragments of memory become pieces of a mind-bending jigsaw puzzle in this twisting thriller from German director Roland Suso Richter. In a plotline reminiscent of both The Butterfly Effect and The Jacket, hospitalised heir Ryan Phillippe wakes up with amnesia following a near-death experience. Finding himself inexplicably able to travel in time, he uses his new gift to reconstruct his terrifying lost years. Adapted by Identity screenwriter Michael Cooney from his stage play Point of Death, this atmospheric tale is sleekly executed and visually handsome. It's not as clever as it believes, but it is intriguing, with some engaging performances and creepy tension softening the disappointment of a too-convenient conclusion.
