Sidney Salkow directs this virtual remake of his own Sitting Bull, made in 1954. One of the cinema's periodic examinations of Custer's Last Stand, this B-western re-creates the famous Battle of the Little Bighorn. Philip Carey plays Custer as an idealist who is initially outspoken in his defence of north American Indian rights. Later he is forced to compromise these principles in order to further his political ambitions in Washington. Michael Pate plays Sitting Bull, while Crazy Horse is portrayed by Iron Eyes Cody, who had previously played the same role in the earlier Salkow effort.

Colonel Custer, an outspoken believer in fair treatment for the Indians, is ousted from his post and forced into retirement. Fueled by ambition when a Senator Blaine convinces him to run for President, Custer decides to upstage General Terry at Little Big Horn.
