Anyone who's seen movies like Bedazzled or Ghost Rider will know that movie wishes are never granted without strings attached. Well Santa proves to be every bit as sneaky as Satan (now there's a curious anagram) in this festive frolic, starring the shamefully undervalued Mimi Rogers. She plays a perfume counter assistant who gets more than she bargained for after dropping a letter into the mailbox at her department store's grotto. Veteran TV-movie director Charles Jarrott allows the romance to get a touch tacky towards the end, but he draws a spirited performance from Rogers as well as a splendid supporting turn from Stella Stevens.

Perfume saleslady Melody Parris feels like her life is in neutral. Her stick-in-the mud boyfriend won't commit and she gets passed over for a promotion at the store where she works. She decides to make a Christmas list. After it's deposited in Santa's mailbox at the store, she starts getting everything she wanted, but it doesn't always turn out as she expected.
