This thriller is an effective if somewhat extravagant excursion into The Hand That Rocks the Cradle territory, except this time it's a disturbed mum rather than a nanny. Marcy Walker plays a woman institutionalised after murdering her child's adoptive mother, the wife of Leigh J McCloskey. The youngster also died in the attack, but Walker refuses to believe that, and when she escapes she immediately tracks down McCloskey, who now has a new wife (Genie Francis) and son (Jacob Loyst). The plot defies logic as Walker evades the police with ease and actually takes up residence, undetected, in McCloskey's home, à la Gary Busey in Hider in the House, but director William Graham manages to inject a few shocks along the way.

Five years ago, Christine went after the baby she gave up for adoption, claiming he'd been stolen, and wound up killing Alex Williams' wife and the baby the Williams' had adopted. Now, Alex has remarried to a woman with a young son and when Christine escapes from a mental institution, she heads straight for Alex, looking for revenge.
