The 1960s sunned and surfed purveyors of teen classic hits were an odd bunch beneath their seemingly clean-cut bonhomie, but drummer Dennis Wilson, on whom this hagiography is based, was not the most talented, interesting or indeed troubled member of the group. Hence this major whitewash job, which glosses over brother Brian's bouts of depression, presenting instead a tantalising glimpse of talent here and a modicum of insight there, with the end result adding up to very little indeed. Great tunes, though.
