Not quite a career low for John Travolta - Two of a Kind was still to come - but one he nevertheless would probably love to forget. The idea of doing a sequel to the film that launched his career (Saturday Night Fever) was a good one, but the warning bells should have started ringing over the involvement of Sylvester Stallone, who co-wrote and directed this clunker. The slim plot focuses on Travolta, now a professional dancer, being torn between two women as he prepares for a big show. Stallone, however, largely gives us a retread of Rocky, while brother Frank, who was responsible for much of the music, is certainly no Bee Gee.

Five years later, Tony Manero's Saturday Night Fever still burns. Now he's struts toward his biggest challenger yet - making it as a dancer on the Broadway stage.
