Former commercials director David Smith makes his feature debut with this clichéd chiller. Jenny (Billie Piper) moves into a creepy North London mansion with four other students and it's not long before they discover a supernatural link between their new home and the tragic fate of a widow and her black lover 100 years earlier. Former pop star Piper shot this movie in Romania before Doctor Who propelled her back into the limelight, but she's just going through the motions as the girl plagued by unwanted communications from her dead mother. The cool upscale photography and hints of kinky sex between Emma Catherwood and soap star Luke Mably are mildly diverting. Otherwise there's nothing here to redeem Smith's hereafter disaster - a clumsy mix of psychic dread and clairvoyant claptrap scenes that always seems to end on an anticlimactic "boo".

When five young students move into an old unoccupied mansion an inexplicable chain of events is set into motion as a mysterious spirit clock begins to tick again. As the story unfolds, revealing each student's dark secrets, the boundary between the real world and the afterlife is no longer clear. Will they find a way to escape or will they be trapped with the spirits forever?
