Overview:
This very decent Michael Douglas drama, which inexplicably went straight to DVD here last year, will appeal in particular to fans of his two Wall Street films. The character he plays isn't a million miles removed from one Gordon Gekko. Douglas plays the former owner of a major car dealership who has fallen from grace because of dodgy business doings, and is now trying to rebuild both his personal and professional reputations. In addition to wounded pride, he's also suffering from advancing years and incipient heart disease. No one does desperate and dangerous like the urbane and foxy Douglas. Toss into the mix a crack support cast of Susan Sarandon, Danny DeVito, Mary-Louise Parker and Social Network star Jesse Eisenberg, and you've a film well worthy of two hours of anyone's viewing time.
