Overview:
An Englishman travelling through Canada picks up a teenage hitch-hiker, only for her to be killed in an accident. Stranded in the dead girl's home town, the guilt-ridden driver seeks out her mother, a highly functioning autistic woman, and an unusual friendship develops as he is persuaded to stay and organise the funeral.
