An experimental bioengineered lifeform created to live on Mars wreaks havoc in this competent sci-fi horror from director Jim Wynorski. The trouble starts when thieves steal the new breed of super species and allow it to escape into the California countryside where it begins devouring everything in sight. Enter Nasa agent Mike Connors (Patrick Muldoon) and aloof scientist Nancy Burnham (Theresa Russell), who join forces to destroy the menace before it can procreate and dominate the planet. Utilising a standard chiller format, this patchy project proves to be little more than an adequate time-passer.

A space shuttle crashes containing a lethal prototype organism designed to survive in any environment. The only people who can stop the creature are the Secretary of Defense agent and the female scientist who created it.
