A boy's dog is killed by his abusive father, so he and his friend bury the animal in a place believed to hold the power of resurrection. Miraculously, the dog returns to the land of the living, but with a vicious new temperament, and savages the boy's father to death. The terrified son decides to try in turn to resurrect his parent, but with horrific consequences. Horror sequel, with Edward Furlong and Anthony Edwards.

The "sematary" is up to its old zombie-raising tricks again. This time, the protagonists are Jeff Matthews, whose mother died in a Hollywood stage accident, and Drew Gilbert, a boy coping with an abusive stepfather.
