John Travolta reteams with Wild Hogs director Walt Becker and shares top billing with Robin Williams for this ramshackle comedy. The stars play two friends and business partners who suddenly end up babysitting a pair of seven-year-old twins, the product of Williams's one-day marriage years before. In a vain effort to entertain the unlovable sprogs, the pair engage in a torrent of slapstick set-ups that are neither witty nor funny. The sight gags come thick and fast, culminating in a children's entertainer (played by Bernie Mac in his last screen performance) putting the hapless childminders into motion-control puppet suits - and even that apparently golden opportunity is not amusing. There are some eye-catching cameos featuring the likes of Ann-Margret, Kelly Preston (aka Mrs Travolta) and Matt Dillon as an obsessive scout leader, but essentially this comes across as nothing more than a Hollywood in-joke for which "you had to be there".

Charlie and Dan have been best friends and business partners for thirty years; their Manhattan public relations firm is on the verge of a huge business deal with a Japanese company. With two weeks to sew up the contract, Dan gets a surprise: a woman he married on a drunken impulse nearly nine years before (annulled the next day) shows up to tell him he's the father of her twins, now seven, and she'll be in jail for 14 days for a political protest. Dan volunteers to keep the tykes, although he's uptight and clueless. With Charlie's help is there any way they can be dad and uncle, meet the kids' expectations, and still land the account?
