Overview:
A day in the life of a hassled mum of two in New York is the subject of this mediocre comedy. Uma Thurman stars as the former writer-turned-blogger who lives with flaky hubby Anthony Edwards and their kids in Manhattan's Greenwich Village, but struggles to face up to the daily slog of being a mother. It's a well-meaning movie, but the attempts to provide amusing insights into the everyday life of a full-time mum are hamstrung by the 24-hour time frame (which leaves events looking contrived) and some ill-judged bad language. Not to mention the irritating nature of the film's characters, who are supposed to be endearingly eccentric but in the end are just very annoying. "This isn't funny," says Edwards's character at one stage. He's not kidding.
