Overview:
A mother faces poverty when a moneylender's trickery leaves her heavily in debt and her husband flees the village after being maimed in an accident. She remains determined to provide for her children as best she can, while her embittered son is consumed by thoughts of exacting revenge on the moneylender, whom he blames for all his family's woes.
