A mysterious artefact is brought back to Earth by a space shuttle crew, which turns out to be a deadly robot warrior that absorbs technology and organic matter to rebuild itself. Two astronauts are sent to the moon to discover where the machine came from and discover a hostile alien civilisation with designs on Earth.
