"She married too young. She learned the truth too late."
- Director: Michael Toshiyuki Uno
- Genre: TV Movie, Drama
- Studio: Daniel H. Blatt Productions
- Duration: 120 Mins
|
Overview:
Bearing a passing resemblance to the plot of Gus Van Sant's To Die For, this true-life TV movie tackles the thorny problem of domestic violence. Jennie Garth turns in a decent performance as the Los Angeles wife who persuades four teenagers to murder the husband she asserts has abused her throughout their marriage. She then pleads to suffering from post-traumatic stress and battered woman's syndrome at her trial. Directed by Michael Toshiyuki Uno, who guided Joanne Woodward to an Emmy nomination in the previous year's Blind Spot, this may be socially relevant, but it's not without its melodramatic flaws.
