Stephen King's name is nowhere to be seen, nor are any of his clever plot concepts, in this thin sequel to the surprise hit The Lawnmower Man. What remains is a tedious slice of confusing science fiction, as Matt Frewer (Max Headroom himself) attempts to take over the world through cyberspace. Scientist Patrick Bergin must stop him, aided by three computer whizzkids, with only a barrage of special effects to call on for help, in director Farhad Mann's virtual unreality jumble. The flashiest digital technology in the world couldn't disguise the incoherent plot or make up for the fact that the characterisations are so sketchy that not one of the main players comes across with one iota of credibility.

Now a shattered mind lurking in cyberspace, Jobe plots a return by hijacking a global VR network and rebuilding himself as something far beyond human. As reality starts to glitch, a small group races to stop a digital god who no longer needs a body.
