In this dumb modern western, a bounty hunter (Tom Berenger) on the trail of escaped convicts discovers a tribe of Cheyenne Indians living undisturbed in the Rocky Mountains. It's a pedestrian copy of Dances with Wolves, with native bonding and a spiky relationship between Berenger and a professor of Indian anthropology who's conveniently both female and attractive (Barbara Hershey). Throwing various other genre clichés into the soup (the bounty hunter and the sheriff have a past), it has some decent, grizzled work from Berenger, but the script isn't sharp enough to overcome the highly implausible premise.

A Montana bounty hunter is sent into the wilderness to track three escaped prisoners. Instead he sees something that puzzles him. Later with a female Native Indian history professor, he returns to find some answers.
