In this undernourished eco-horror, a teenager is taken back to the island off the coast of the US where his parents were eaten by Komodo dragons, because his psychiatrist, played by Jill (Law and Order) Hennessey thinks it will cure his traumatic amnesia. Other potential victims for the ravenous lizards on their self-preservation mission include evil hunters hired by an oil company to eradicate the slithering menace so they can drill the place dry. The ridiculous premise is given routine direction by experienced special-effects artist Michael Lantieri, explaining why the computer graphic effects are of a higher standard than usual. They are the only aspect of note in a dull time-waster that barely rises above its obvious B-movie trappings.

During the 70's, some Komodo Dragon eggs were dumped on an North Carolina island. Somehow, the baby Komodos survived, and twenty years later they have grown up and taken over the island for themselves. Young Patrick has lost his parents and his dog to the lizards, but didn't see them himself, which has left him traumatized. Now, with his therapist Victoria, they return to confront his fears.
