This 1950s Hollywood retelling of the Arthurian legend finds Lancelot being given his marching orders by Arthur for his, shall we say, inappropriate affection for Guinevere, but galloping back to rescue the day by overcoming the wicked Modred. Shot in Britain, as MGM's first CinemaScope movie, it stars the good-looking but passionless Robert Taylor and Ava Gardner as the doomed lovers. The finished product is long on pomp and pageantry, though sadly not as stirring as it sounds or should be.

In Camelot, kingdom of Arthur and Merlin, Lancelot is well known for his courage and honor. But one day he must quit Camelot and the Queen Guinevere's love, leaving the Round Table without protection.
