A thriller that disappeared without trace, despite the fact that the leads are Andy Garcia and Pulp Fiction star Uma Thurman. Thurman is effective as a blind woman who hears a murder and may be in danger herself, while Garcia gives his usual charismatic turn as the cop convinced the case is linked to one he fouled up years before. The blind murder-witness scenario was done better in Michael Apted's 1994 thriller Blink, partly because it had fewer far-fetched twists than this one, but there's still plenty to keep followers of thrillers and fans of the two stars happy.

John Berlin, a big-city cop from LA moves to a small-town police force and immediately finds himself investigating a murder. Using theories rejected by his colleagues, Berlin meets a young blind woman named Helena, whom he is attracted to. Meanwhile, a serial killer is on the loose—and only John knows it.
