Overview:
Richard Eyre's biopic of author Iris Murdoch chronicles her life from her time at Oxford, where she met her future husband, academic John Bayley, through to her final years, when she was struck down by Alzheimer's disease. Kate Winslet plays the writer as a young woman, with Judi Dench taking over for her later in life, and Jim Broadbent won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role. With Hugh Bonneville, Penelope Wilton, Juliet Aubrey, Samuel West, Timothy West and Eleanor Bron.
