Blood flies everywhere as the horror movie and the gangster film collide head on in this atmospheric offering from John Landis. From the moment Anne Parillaud sinks her teeth into hoodlum Robert Loggia, it's clear that this isn't going to be your average vampire chiller. The whole production drips with style as Loggia chomps his way towards fulfilling his ambition of controlling the underworld by means of the undead. Parillaud slinks through the picture, falling for Anthony LaPaglia in the process, but it's the excesses of Loggia and crooked lawyer Don Rickles that command the attention. For those in the know, directors Dario Argento, Sam Raimi, Michael Ritchie and Frank Oz pop up in cameos.
