This odd but surprisingly watchable comedy takes a fresh look at the impact of marital discord. Worried that their parents are about to get a divorce, Kyle Howard and Amy Sakasitz decide drastic action is required. So they lock them in the basement, together with their friend's bickering mum and dad. Pretty soon other pupils are queueing up for their unique marriage guidance programme. The performances of both adults and youngsters are uniformly strong and, despite the occasional invasion of sentimentality, this makes for thoughtful entertainment.

High-schooler Grover Beindorf and his younger sister Stacy decide that their parents, Janet and Ned, are acting childishly when they decide to divorce after 18 years of marriage, so they lock them up in the basement until they'll sort out their problems.
