Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson, playing Bottom characters Richie and Eddie, attempt to run a fleapit hotel where they and their unlucky guests suffer unimaginable pain and humiliation in the furtherance of the British leisure industry. Rude and crude comedy which falls short of actually being funny, co-starring Simon Pegg, Fenella Fielding, Bill Nighy, Vincent Cassel and Lisa Palfrey. The duo also wrote the screenplay, and Edmondson took the director's chair.

Richie and Eddie are in charge of the worst hotel in the UK, Guest House Paradiso, neighbouring a nuclear power plant. The illegal immigrant chef has fled and all the guests have gone. But when a famous Italian filmstar, Gina Carbonara, who is in hiding from a fiance she doesn't want to marry, arrives at the hotel, things get very interesting!
